Throwback Thursday: Family Photo Tradition in Wyoming

Traditions are rewarding to maintain, and in my family, our cars have been featured in family photos consistently over the years. One of the places where we always staged a group photo was along Highway 191 in Jackson, Wyoming.

The location, which now houses a TJ Maxx, features a large statue of a bull elk in the parking lot. My dad, an avid outdoorsman, found it a perfect backdrop for our shot. Over the years, each time we visited Jackson (and each time in a different vehicle) we would line up the photo there.

Here are a few photos from 1989, 1997, 1999, and – most recently – a visit I made in 2020 when I was road testing a new Acura TLX PMC Edition. The landscape has changed but the elk statue remains! Maybe we need to get dad into a new 2023 Ford Lightning EV pickup and have a family reunion at the same location.
